Final Project Idea/ draft

My final project is based on gun violence. I will be painting a poster/canvas of a sign saying to end gun violence. I got inspired by the previous art gallery where I had spoken about a friend of my that had passed away. While writing that part in my response it reminded me how cruel this world was and based on a current event that had happened in Brooklyn, it showed that there are people who aren’t getting the message or just simply don’t care. It is hurting a lot of people, you are taking these people's lives away from their families. Shootings, explosives, and any violence at all, you are constantly taking people’s lives and it keeps going throughout history. It never stops and it continues. I want to inspire people by helping them realize that gun violence is not the answer. While painting this canvas I will be recording the progress of my artwork including others to join in and paint something meaningful as well to show that this is something that needs to be stopped and voices need to be heard. Here is some artwork that we are currently working on.

I had kids drawing and painting to show what represents ending gun violence. I want to send a clear message out to the community. Some texts I will be including will be from the readings of Siegler. I will also add statistics and backstories to give the audience knowledge of gun violence. There is a lot that has inspired me to come upon this topic, which will be included in the final piece once it has been completed.
