Zainab Khilji

For my intervention I want to talk about  the hijab ban that is currently taking place in India. the reason I want to talk about this is because I'm also a hijabi who wear's a hijab. My heart goes out to those people who are forced to take out the hijab. hijab Is not oppression and it is not dangerous. muslim women students/ staffulty members do not have the permission to enter classrooms and school building unless they are not wearing any head covering. Indian court are stopping muslims women from completing their education and stopping income in families. If that had happen to me I don't know how I would feel. 

I was inspired by Ruben Ortez Torrez intervention project. In this intervention he works with media to show cultural representations of every day life. he has made several photographs and paintings. Torrez was born in Mexico City and graduated from Harvard graduate school of designs.

I think this relates to my intervention because I made a video explaining one of the current issues that is happening right now. In my video I used several pictures to explain the hijab ban. I also used media to inform students what going on in India right now.
