Chapter 3
“Like all other major brand names is not so much about selling concrete stuff, but more about promoting a lifestyle”.
“YOMANGO likes to think of this work as “clothing for civil disobedience.”
As it was discussed in the project and from my understanding, Yomango’s bag is easy and simple to carry. Helped and became everyone’s shopping daily routine bag. So, this bag is easy and simple but at the same time people can take advantage and steal and put it inside their bag. It's helpful and at the same time it’s not. When I connected these quotes to real life, it reminded me of some people who have two different faces, the good and the bad.
Chapter 4
"Rather than telling people exactly what I think, the art experience becomes a platform for a dialogue, even if it’s solely an internal dialogue."
“In executing projects such as this one, we hope to contribute to an idea of public science by focusing on issues (such as food production) that are of direct interest to people, and so contribute to making the meaning of scientific initiatives immediate and concrete, as opposed to the vague abstractions they tend to be.”
This project “the free range grain” is basically meant for consumers because nobody informs consumers what truly goes into food manufacturing. However, Companies rather maintain their secrets instead of explaining it to consumers. The investigation has had far reaching consequences for future research into the legitimacy of organic foods.
