Chapter 3 & 4

 Chapter 3

Our work is a small part of a global movement that is interested in derailing the kind of no-holds-barred capitalism that is starving the world’s poor and ruining the environment.”

This quote stood out to me because of the meaning I got from it as it talks about the trying to create a paradigm shift between the rich and poor class.

“Yomango likes to think of this work as “clothing for civil disobedience”

Yomango’s bag is just like any other bag that you can carry. You can put your stuff in it and get on the go but people can manipulate that bag to do some illegal things like stealing from a store and putting it into a bag. This article of clothing form yomangos point of view can cause people to make wrong moral decisions

Project Yomango: Yomango is classified as a bag that “makes objects disappear. It was designed to be the perfect bag especially for shoplifting making the mall a “magical experience”.

Chapter 4

“Rather than telling people exactly what I think, the art experience becomes a platform for a dialogue, even if it’s solely an internal dialogue

This quote is very important and I share the views of it because art is very abstract and can start a conversation and form many opinions about a certain piece. Though the beauty of it is trying to figure out what it means and that conversation starts within your own head.

“Is naturalness possible in the world today, and what do we mean when we say natural and organic

This quote is related to a piece and issues with the worlds food production

Project: Free Range Grain

This project was meant for consumers of the world and how the food is made and what is it. Basically it let them know what they are putting into their bodies and it was a live performative kind of project.
