Chapter 3
Project :Yomango
Founded 2003 (Barcelona, Spain)
Quote 1
“This magic bag makes objects disappear. It’s ergonomically designed to be the ultimate shoplifting utensil.
“YOMANGO converts going to the mall into a magical experience.”
I understand that this bag is actually referred to as "I Steal" in Spanish, meaning this bag is a sort of protest against fast fashion because the Yomango bag is not even a brand. It is a very dangerous bag because it was designed to be used to take stuff from stores. Moreover, this bag is stylish and suitable to be used as a fashion bag instead of a shopping bag since this would make the stores easier to steal especially at the mall. This bag is also cheaper than other bags on the market. The truth is that we all need these bags in our lives to make life easier.\
Chapter 4
Project: (Critical Art Ensemble with Beatriz de Costa)
Founded 1987
Quote 2
“In executing projects such as this one, we hope to contribute to an idea of public science by focusing on issues (such as food production) that are of direct interest to people, and so contribute to making the meaning of scientific initiatives immediate and concrete, as opposed to the vague abstractions they tend to be.”
“CAE tested foods brought in by visitors to refute claims by the EU that their borders against GMOs could be maintained.”
This project is focused on finding a strong way to determine if the food is suspect due to whatever reason. Also, they taste the food over a period of 72 hours to see if their suspicions are justified. We still need to know what our bodies need and what we eat. There are many people who don't know the difference between organic food and fresh food. However, we realize that we use social media so we can search for good food bad food.
